1. The association is called The Photographic Society of New York (PSNY).
  2. PSNY is an officially registered non-profit in New York, USA.
  3. PSNY advocate the promotion of photographic art for research and photography management purposes and will not be involved in any political activities.
  4. PSNY in accordance with the Companies Act states the establishment of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. 
  5. PSNY has three types of members: New York local members, US domestic members and overseas life members (outside US).
  6. Within those who live in the New York metropolitan area, may apply for the New York metropolitan area members, who are required to pay annual dues, and enjoy it in line with the right to vote.
  7. You must be at least 18, have photographic hobbies, have good conduct, and hold no criminal records to apply for membership.
  8. Those under 18 need parent/guardian permission (signature) to apply for membership.
  9. PSNY has two types of honors for members: Associate of The Photographic Society of New York (APSNY) and Fellow of The Photographic Society of New York (FPSNY).
  10. Only members (domestic and international) may apply for the APSNY and FPSNY honors.
  11. Members may apply for APSNY after they have been a member for three months. 
  12. Members may apply for FPSNY after they have held the APSNY honor for one year.
  13. The Overseas Life Member applicant must hand in application will application fees.The applicant will only become an Overseas Life Member after the Executive Committee of the Council reviewed and adopted the application, and the Overseas Memberships Group of Board issued a photo ID, concurrent e-mail notification. 
  14. Overseas Life members will have 20 percent discount for all PSNY International Salon fee as benefit.
  15. The society will provide relevant information and assistance for photography activity in North-East America to Overseas Life member. 
  16. All communications to members will be via email.
  17. Local members are free to participate in the annual International Salon Exhibition.
  18. Local members are free to participate in quarterly contests.
  19. Life members may not be selected or vote for the Board of Directors or Executive Committee.
  20. Local members have the right to vote for Executive Committee after being a member for one year.
  21. Local members have the right to be appointed to the Executive Committee after being a member for one year.
  22. Local members have the right to be selected to the Executive Committee after being a member for three years.
  23. Members under 18 may not vote, be selected, be appointed for Board of Directors or Executive Committee members.
  24. Local members who fail to pay the annual dues are automatically denied the right to vote for the Executive Committee.
  25. Local members who fail to pay the annual dues will have their membership terminated one year from that date.
  26. All members need to abide by these rules and regulations.
  27. If you damage the reputation of the association or misuse the association’s name, you’re membership will be terminated and all benefits will cease.

P.S. 2 – Local membership is only available for New York City, Long Island, Upstate New York,  New Jersey, Pennsylvania,connecticut residents. Proof of address is needed to become a local member.
